STRATEGY, DESIGN & ACTIVATION
We were asked to create a bright and joyful space in the heart of Central London that was a bold mix of art and visual placemaking, whilst always meeting the sustainable standards of Wild and British Land.
Having worked in the space before, we understood the key challenge of the environment is scale. Meanwhile, the proximity to a major rail station means the speed with which we'd have to speak to any audience would be fast. Nonetheless, our teams sought to develop our greenest solution yet, using local craftsmen to ensure investment remained in the community. Focussing on the local flora and fauna of the area, we sought to create a display that was created using natural materials and would be fully recycled/repurposed after use.
Tying back to the local community app via a simple QR code, our stunning floral display saw local insects flying and swooping through it. The walls, stairs, and flooring also has recyclable insects, perfect for eager photographers or community visitors.
After decommissioning, the display will be fully recycled or repurposed. Additionally, we have planted 250 trees and invested in carbon reduction schemes to celebrate its launch to the public.
