To coincide with SXSW London, Molly Gochman entrusted us to bring one of her most iconic artworks to life across 3 locations in East London. Each edition was a different scale; ranging from 300sqm to over 1000sqm, and engaging with the local architecture as it ran along floors, walls and windows.

The project saw us work with Molly and her Stardust Team to map out the best locations, scales and methodologies that would do credit to the art itself.

In dialogue with her sculptural series UKR|RUS, which physically embodies the internationally recognized Ukraine-Russia border using reclaimed materials, Molly Gochman’s Dispersed Geographies offers a contrasting medium. This installation translates the border into a two-dimensional form, cut from white vinyl and situated within public spaces. By fragmenting the border’s silhouette into segments of varying lengths, the work explores interconnectedness across distances. These fragments, sometimes mere inches apart and at others separated by blocks, highlight the liminal spaces between places and people—gaps serving as bridges between the local and global, the individual and the collective.
